Auburn to Macrina Bakery
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Come out this Thursday morning and join me for a social bike ride. We will start from the north end of the theater parking lot of the Outlet Collection Mall in Auburn and head north on the Interurban Trail for 5 miles before turning onto Frager Road, a very low traffic back road that follows the curves and twists of the Green River. Near Van Doren’s Landing Park we will cross the river and jump onto the Green River Trail and follow it north to Tukwila. After we pass the Family Fun Center we head back south. We will stop in Kent at the Macrina Bakery & Cafe for a 20 minute rest stop. Approxitmately eight miles later we will turn onto the Green River Road, another beautiful low traffic country road that also follows the meandering Green River. We will cruise through the streets of Auburn and back to our start location in the mall parking lot.
Please arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the ride start at 9 AM so you can get your bike and yourself ready and hear the S.M.A.R.T. talk (safety briefing).
Restrooms are at the start inside the Walmart store, at Three Friends Fishing Hole at mile 12.7 and at our rest stop, Macrina Bakery, at mile 21.2. There is an optional bathroom stop at Isaac Evans Park or the Auburn Golf Course at mile 33.
New riders are welcome, but please review link below. Riders should be able to maintain the pace and know how to change a flat tire (and carry the equipment to do so).
Come prepared to fix flats and have a plan for dealing with mechanical issues. Generally the group will not wait for flats/mechanical issues so make sure you know the route or have printed a CUE sheet.
Please register for the ride by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page, click the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save. By doing this you will save time at the ride start. If you are unable to attend you do not need to "un-register."
