Let's Ride - Silver Lake/Everett (NOTE--Daylight Saving Time)
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
'Let's Ride" is a Free Group Ride that is for those who have done a few rides and would like to get out and ride with a group. It is shorter than most other Free Group Rides. An experienced Ride Leader will lead the group so you can grow your confidence with group riding. This ride is totally free and open to everyone. The route consists of trails, bike lanes and bike-friendly streets with easy climbs so you can practice shifting gears. Everyone will ride the bumps and hills at their own pace and we regroup regularly so you don't have to be concerned about being left behind. Let's start riding for health, fitness or just for fun!
Today's route: We head north and ride around Silver Lake.
Some important things to know: "Steady Pace" means 12-14 mph on a flat surface without any headwind. We will go slower on hills and with a headwind and faster going downhill. If you aren't sure about your pace, please join us anyway; if needed you can always turn around. Carrying a charged cell phone is a good idea. You should dress appropriately for the weather, but you do not need spandex or other specialized bike gear. You need a working bike and a helmet. If you haven't ridden your bike recently, please have your local bike shop look it over a few days prior to the ride. Oh and don't forget to pump up your tires (the air disappears somehow within a week or less).
Please arrive 20 minutes before the published start time to ready your bike, check in and participate in the safety and ride briefing. We will go over hand signals and what we say during the ride to keep ourselves safe. Optional, but appreciated: Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button. You have to create an account, but you don't have to become a member or pay.
Steady rain cancels the ride. If that happens, it will be announced in the comments section below at least two hours before start time and the Ride Leader will not be at the start. Below you will find some helpful links. And if you have any questions, just post them below.
