Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
"Get On Your Bike" are Free Group Rides that are organized all over the Puget Sound during the week and weekend by different Ride Leaders. Have you been off of your bike for a while? Did you buy a bike but you are not confident riding? These "Get On You Bike" rides are for you!! These are social rides with an experienced Ride Leader so you can grow your confidence with group riding. They are free and open to everyone. The routes consists of trails and bike-friendly streets with easy climbs so you can practice shifting gears. Everyone will ride the bumps and hills at their own pace and we regroup at the top of hills and before any turns so you don't have to be concerned about being left behind. So let's start riding for health, fitness or just for fun! Here is your opportunity to develop riding skills, become more familiar with your bike and feel confident riding in a group.
Today's route: We will ride on the Centennial Trail in Snohomish. We'll veer a little off of the trail and ride along the river and in a quiet neighborhood.
Some important things to know: "Steady Pace" means 12-14 mph on a flat surface without any headwind. We will go slower on hills and with a headwind and faster going downhill. If you aren't sure about your pace, please join us anyway, but look at the route and bring a printed cue sheet with you. We can help you read the cue sheet if you need to return to the start early. Carrying a charged cell phone is also a good idea. You should dress appropriately for the weather, but you do not need spandex or other specialized bike gear. All you need is a working bike and a helmet. If you haven't ridden your bike recently, please have your local bike shop look it over a few days prior to the ride. Oh and don't forget to pump up your tires (the air disappears somehow within a week or less).
Please arrive 20 minutes before the published start time to ready your bike, check in and participate in the safety and ride briefing. We will go over hand signals and what we say during the ride to keep ourselves safe. Optional, but appreciated: Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button. You have to create an account, but you don't have to become a member or pay.
Steady rain cancels the ride. If that happens, it will be announced in the comments section below at least two hours before start time and the Ride Leader will not be at the start. Below you will find some helpful links. And if you have any questions, just post them below.
