Free Group Ride
Kirkland Social: Redmond Trails Reverse (Steady)
Event has already happened.
Let's meet at Heritage Park Parking Lot. Be ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. If you plan to join enroute please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.
We will ride north through Juanita Bay Park and continue up Forbes Creek Drive and the Cross Kirkland Corridor. We'll continue on Education Hill streets to the Bella Botega Starbucks/QFC at mile 11.2 where we will stop for a 30-minute food/Snack stop. The route returns via the Redmond Connector, Bear Creek, and 520 Trail with a detour through the Microsoft Campus to cross over the new Light Rail Station Bridge. The route returns to the 520 Trail and then turns north on 140th Ave NE and back to the start via Kirkland’s greenways.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.
Restrooms and water are not available at the start, but we will stop at Juanita Bay Park at mile 1.7. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us.
