Dirt After Dark (Juanita) Off Road "Moderate"
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Join us for a ride from Juantia QFC Parking Lot on a 7-10 mile route at Moderate effort!
Riding the trails at night is super fun. Everything seems faster and more intense. It will be very dark so you will need two charged light sources. A helmet light to look around corners and a bike mounted light to give contrast to the bumps and roots. I recommend at least 500 lumens combined. A tail light is necessary but here brighter is not better for they blind the rider behind you. I also expect riders to have glasses to protect their eyes. I plan to average a moderate effort. There are many short steep sections that require short bursts of hard effort. There will be some sections of roots and rocks. I believe the skill level is intermediate in technical ability. This is mountain bike territory. I will be using my gravel bike which means I will be slowing down in areas with roots and larger bumps.
Let's meet at the street side of the QFC parking lot at 6:20 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 6:30.
We will stay together making sure nobody misses a turn.
Restrooms not available at the start. We will stop if necessary at the pit toilet down by Lake Washington
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
