Cascade Advanced Training Series @ Magnuson (CATS-m)
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Come ride with us on Cascade Advanced Training Series at Magnuson (CATS-m). We are here to help you get ready for your next big summer event ride!
CATS-m is held every Saturday from April to August starting and finishing in Magnuson Park. Although CATS-m is a series, everyone is welcome to join at anytime of the season. Please arrive by 0745 for pre-ride brief and safety discussion. Rolling promptly at 0800.
As the riders in the Tour de France tackle the Tourmalet today, let's ride with them in spirit on a true vigorous pace (19mph), 65-mile clockwise loop around Lake Sammamish and Lake Washington. Rest/water stops at miles 22 and 44 with option for coffee at Raconteur in Seward Park neighborhood at mile 54. Each rider should carry their own water, food and snacks from the start of the ride. Please be prepared with tubes/tools and to be able to fix a flat and other minor mechanicals.
Riders are expected to sustain and complete the route at the advertised pace without pacelining/drafting. If you become slower towards the end of the ride, be prepared to drop back to the Brisk group, or complete the ride by yourself, and/or cut the route short (carrying an ORCA card helps). Please bring a cue sheet and/or upload the route information onto your GPS device/smart phone.
Even though it's not a requirement, we appreciate you pre-registering (the red "Register Now" button above) to expedite the admin process at the start. If you decide not to ride, there's no need to un-register.
In addition to steady rain, any other hazardous conditions will cancel a ride. If a ride is canceled due to weather and hazardous conditions, it will be posted here in the comment section 2 hours prior to the start time and ride leaders will not be waiting at the start.
Restrooms are available near the start.
We hope you can join us.
