We will brave the cold for an in-city route with a mix of hills, flats and views. Pace will be high end of brisk. Warm up on a few hills in Discovery Park and Magnolia then head south to Lincoln Park in West Seattle, up Marine View, east to the Duwamish via Allentown, White Center and Tukwila, and descend in Renton at the South end of Lake Washington where we head north on Lake Wash. Blvd. to Seward Park then continue north to the Burke Gilman Trail and back to Magnolia. Will observe 15 MPH speed limit on mixed use trails and adjust route and pace as needed based on ice-on-road conditions. Brief stops at Lincoln and Seward Parks. Regroup on hilltops. Temps predicted to feel like high 20's at the start and not get a whole lot warmer.
Please join at Discovery Park NORTH parking lot by 10:20 AM. (Make 1st R after you enter the park on Government Way). In consideration of our fellow riders, fenders with buddy flap if roads are wet please. Showers, snow, ice, hail and other pestilence cancels.
What to Know Before You Go
- Advance registration required. Cancel if unable to attend, to open space for others.
- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
- Helmets required.
- Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.
