Let's head to Edmonds for a late breakfast/early lunch at the Red Twig Cafe at about the 20 mile mark. Their service is quick so the stop won't be too long. This is a fun route from Wilmot Park in Woodinville to practice some hill climbing and descents on a variety of urban roads, but nothing too overbearing. We'll also have a bit of trail riding on the Samm River, Burke-Gilman, and Interurban trails.
We'll maintain a moderate pace (14-16 mph) on the flats w/o the benefit or hinderance of wind, slower on the uphills, faster on the downhills. This is a stay together ride, regrouping as necessary at the top of hills so you can climb at your own pace.
Riders should bring tools and knowledge to repair flats. Please have a backup plan for any mechanical that may occur. It can happen! For the comfort of fellow riders and yourself fenders are a must this time of year unless it is bone dry on the roads.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes early in order to prepare yourself and your bike prior to safety briefing. Ride starts at 9:30.
We'll meet across from Wilmot Gateway Park at the Woodinville Sports Fields parking at the south end of the fields as there is a time limit on parking at Wilmot. Public restrooms are available at the start.
Registration:To save time at the start, please register for the ride by clicking on red Register Now button. You do not need a CBC account in order to register, but it does speed up the process. Remember to click SAVE to complete the registration. There is no need to unregister should you find you are no longer able to ride.
Should weather conditions call for a cancellation day of ride, a cancellation notice will be posted two hours prior. If weather is questionable please check Meetup or CBC sites before leaving at the start. Leader will not be at start if weather cancels.
