West Seattle Hills and a few Beaches

This ride takes us along the marina in Des Moines, on the Des Moines Creek Trail, through Burien to West Seattle with a stop at Three Tree Point and Seola Beaches, as well as riding around beautiful Alki Beach. We will have a chance to do some hill repeats at Marine View Dr, its a great hill to practice!!

Please bring a lunch, snacks and lots of water with you. We will plan to eat at one of the beaches while we take pictures. There are many places to stop along the way if you would like to get a drink or snack as well.

The ride will start and finish at the NW Corner of the Des Moines Marina, near the restrooms and the public pier. Public restrooms at start.

We will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. So please arrive 30 minutes early to hear safety briefing and get your bikes ready. Please sign the waiver on line through your free Cascade account. You may also sign the waiver at the start.

The pace is high leisurely and low steady, as this is a ride for those of us at slower and different paces to practice hills and get ready for any rides you are training for. We will regroup at the top of major hills and turns. This will be a no drop ride. 

If roads are wet fenders are necessary. Long fenders and buddy flaps are absolutely required unless it is bone dry out, and zero percent chance of rain forecast.

Please print cue sheets and bring all necessary tools & tubes to handle any flats etc. Bring adequate food and water as there may be limited opportunities to purchase along the way.

Any cancelations will be posted 2 hours prior to ride start by 7:00am.
