Woodinville to Issaquah Coffee Company Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Time for another Sunday spin around Lk Sammamish to visit the Issaquah Coffee Company! Sunday morning should be a quieter, pleasant time for a morning outing. We'll head out and go around the west side of Lake Sammamish to Issaquah where we will target a short break for drink and refreshments and then return on the east side of Lake Sammamish. If there is congestion on the Sammamish River Trail on Sunday, we may opt to use a return route similar to the one we used to leave Woodinville.
The Ride is posted at a Moderate Pace this week (14-16 mph on the flats) as opposed to the Steady pace we used in the previous weeks. Realistically it will be a Low Moderate pace and the Ride Leader is slow up the few hill-like rises on the ride. Faster riders and better climbers are welcome, of course, but if they take too far off the front, they will need to be self-guided to the destination and return. Fortunately, this is a pretty simple route to navigate.
This ride begins in Woodinville at Wilmot Gateway Park (we'll leave from the parking lot adjacent to the ball fields).
Destination - Issaquah Coffee Company - I have had their "12" Seahawk cookie four times in the preceding weeks and the Seahawks have won three times....so we'll try this one more time to see if it helps them win against the Green Bay Packers.....
As usual for Fall and Winter group rides, as a courtesy to others in the group, you will need long fenders unless it is bone dry out, and zero percent chance of rain forecast. Showers will cancel.
Regroups will be occasional, though not at every turn, so please bring a cue sheet or load the route on your GPS. We will always wait at the top of the few hills, so you can climb those at your own pace.
Mechanicals will not stop the group. Please be sure you have the equipment and knowledge to change flats, plus a cue sheet to get home, or a phone to call for assistance if needed.
Please make sure you are at the start and ready to ride 15 minutes before rollout. You must attend the safety briefing and sign the waiver, or register on this page and check in at the start, in order to ride with the group. There will not be water or restrooms at the start so please arrive prepared.
I will not be at the start if weather conditions meet the criteria for cancellation (showers cancel). If the weather is such that we wouldn't start, I will post a cancellation notice in the Comments block, below, at least 2 hours prior. Please register for the ride by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page. In the screen that follows, click the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save. By doing this you will save time at the ride start.
Mentoring is available. Please contact me if you're interested, and do know the route.
