Seattle Pastry Ride: Van Gogh Coffeehouse (Moderate)

Please join us for a loop of North Seattle, starting from Gas Works Park. This route will start with a gentle climb up 8th Ave NW, before heading east past Haller Lake, then climbing 5th Ave NE in Northgate.  After we will head into Wedgewood with a stop at the Van Gogh Coffeehouse for coffee and pastries.  After the break, it is a smooth descent back to the Burke-Gilman and a trail ride back to Gas Works.

We will meet in the parking lot of Gas Works Park.

Pace: Please note, we will ride within the posted pace on the flats with an equivalent effort up hills. If you plan to ride faster or slower, please come prepared to ride on your own so that each pace group does not have long wait times.

Regroups/Mechanicals: This will be a social ride with regroups at the top of bigger hills and at all critical turns along the way. We'll also enjoy some opportunities for photos at nice viewpoints. Please come prepared with the necessary equipment you may need to take care of flats or other mechanical problems. A cue sheet is available for you to print and is good to have in case you happen to get separated from the group. 

Rest Stops: We will stop at Van Gogh Coffeehosue at mile 14 for a coffee and pastry break.

Requirements: Please make sure to arrive 15 minutes before the ride start for the safety briefing (and sign the ride waiver). As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you wear a helmet. Come prepared with gear that is comfortable and appropriate for the distance/elevation/weather conditions.

RSVP: Please sign an e-wiaver (link just below the ride title if you are signed into Cascade.org) or via Meetup, so we can plan for the appropriate number of Ride Leaders. 

Cancellation Policy: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leaders will not be at the ride start location.
