Free Group Ride
Iron Horse Trail
Event has already happened.
Time to go play in the dirt. The plan is to do an out and back ride on the Iron Horse Trail. The trail surface is made up of compact dirt and gravel. We recommend riding either a Cross bike or a Mt bike on the ride.
The ride has two options to choose from. Option #1 is to ride up to the tunnel and turn around (38 miles roundtrip). Option #2 is to ride through the tunnel to the Hyak Trailhead (43 miles roundtrip).
LIGHTS are REQUIRED (front and rear) and a jacket is highly recommended if you choose Option #2. Temperature in the 2.1 mile tunnel tends to hover in the upper 40's. Perfect place to cool off with the hot weather forecasted for Saturday.
Be sure a bring enough water on the ride. The only water source is at the trailheads at either end of the route (Rattlesnake Lake Trailhead or Hyak Trailhead).
Will meet in the DISCOVERY PASS parking lot.
