Duvall to Ben Howard (Mixed surface--1/3 gravel roads)
Event has already happened.
Ready for a bit of adventure? If you are, come join Jacquie and John for a beautiful mixed-surface loop ride from Duvall to Ben Howard Road, near Sultan, and back to Duvall. This journey starts off from Duvall on Cherry Valley Road for about seven miles. We then turn onto Swan Mill/Stossel Creek Road and soon find ourselves in the woods of Marchworth State Forest on gravel roads.
We will stop for a short break at about Mile 18 at Youngs Creek. We will then continue north to pavement and Ben Howard Road. From there we will head west to Monroe for water and potties. Leaving Monroe we will make our way to High Bridge road and follow that south to Woodinville/Duvall Road and across the river back to the start. It is customary for us to get ice cream after the ride in Duvall.
We are riding this route on our old road tandem that we have put some cross tires on. There are a few suprising potholes, so we will take the gravel section at a moderate pace to avoid the dreaded snake bite. Please bring a bike with tires large enough to handle 12 miles of gravel roads. Also bring at least 2 spare tubes, food, and plenty of water. Please study the map link below and reply on the Cascade Meetup site if you plan to attend.
No restroom facilities or water at the start, so please come prepared.
