Country Rides: Winter Training Series #6
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
This is the sixth of 8 Winter Training Series Rides hosted jointly by CBC and the Seattle Randonneurs. For full description of the Winter Training Series and Randonneuring go to the Seattle Randonneurs website (Seattlerando.org) and then to the <WTS 2014> tab. Though there will be a number of certified ride leaders out on the course, these are self-paced and self-guiding rides with friendly encouragement and lots of camaraderie. THERE ARE NO REGROUPS OR SWEEPS IN THIS SERIES. Please be at the start for sign-in no later 8:30 AM. All rides start promptly at 9:00 AM.
We start with on top of the Kent Plateau and after a little maneuvering around we plunge down to the Green River before climbing back up to Des Moines. From here it's to Dash & Brown Points before turning east through Auburn and to everyone's favorite, Green Valley Road to the Black Diamond Bakery. From there it's mostly a downhill cruise to the Soos Creek trail which we will ride to get back to our cars.
Directions to the Start: Take SR-167 South towards Kent. Take the S 212th St Exit. Go east on S 212th St which soon becomes SE 208th. Go approximately 3 miles. Look for Park on left just after seeing 136th Ave SE on right. Parking is limited at trailhead. Please park at Kentridge High School, 12430 SE 208th St., approximately 0.5 miles west of the trailhead. Restrooms and sign-in at the trailhead.
