Getting Ready to Ride (GR2R) Seattle #4 (20-25 miles, Leisurely)

GR2R Seattle #4 View Ridge Park (20-25 miles, Leisurely/Steady)
Have you signed up for STP/RSVP and don’t know where to start? Did Santa bring you a bicycle for Christmas? Is your new year’s resolution becoming more physically active? Wanting to meet people who ride like you do? Or wanting to explore Seattle neighborhoods?
If you answer yes to any one of above questions, please come join us for “Getting Ready to Ride Seattle (GR2R Seattle)” rides. This is a 7-week long series of bike rides that starts at 11am on Saturdays from February 8 and March 29 (except for March 22). It will be offered at 2 different paces; leisurely (10-12mph on flat) and steady (12-14mph on flat). Starting location varies weekly from north, central, and west Seattle. The routes are between 20 and 25 miles with gradual increase in total accumulative elevation gain. We will ride on both trails and regular, biker-friendly roads.
The goals of this series are to let you
- Be ready for CTS (Cascade Training Series, paid rides designed for STP/RSVP participants) and or any other bicycle events.
- Feel comfortable riding in a group and in traffic.
In order to give you the best experience, we would like to know how many people are riding with us. Please RSVP on Meetup and let us know your pace (we will have one Meetup event for both paces per week). Meetup will be used to post any route update as well. You are also welcome to leave comments/questions there prior to the rides. If you are unsure of your pace, the GR2R series is a good way to find out what is comfortable for you.
Please bring water & snacks. Also please pack necessary tools & tubes to fix a flat.
