Summer in the Seattle area offers so many fabulous activities that it’s hard to narrow it down. So this Friday night, July 26, we’re going to give you a two for one!

Join me for a fun bicycle loop around Mercer Island followed by a delightful evening watching Shakespeare’s Henry V.

The summer Shakespeare in the Park season is upon us. If you've never been to one of these free plays, you are missing out on one of Seattle's best kept secrets!   Each summer the two Seattle Shakespeare companies offer four plays at various parks throughout the area.  These productions are well directed, fully costumed and offer superb acting.   Watching them from a blanket spread on a grassy lawn just adds to the delight.

We'll meet at the lower lot of Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island at 5 p.m. and begin the moderate-paced loop of the Island at 5:15 p.m. Once back at the park we can relax on the grassy hill over a picnic supper and watch the play.

What to bring: Blanket to sit on, your supper and maybe some extra snacks to share around, plus a few dollars to donate to the Shakespeare company if you like.
