What makes bicycle commuting even more accessible?

Public transit.

There are many reasons why a bicyclist might choose to use public transit as part of a "hybrid commute". The bicyclist might be tired. The commute might be really far. Maybe the bike has a  mechanical problem. And frankly, the Pacific Northwest weather might be a big reason.

However, even though a hybrid commute is wonderful solution for many of us, there can be barriers for using public transit: lack of secure bicycle parking, not enough racks on the vehicle or there isn't a good route to the stop or station.

People who live or work in either the North Seattle, SeaTac or Des Moines have an opportunity to share their thoughts about bicycling and light rail. Sound Transit is asking bicyclists living or working near specific future light rail stations to fill out a survey that will help inform the agency how these facilities might be used by bicyclists.

If you live or work in SeaTac or DesMoines, please fill out the survey for the South 200th Station. This survey will be up until June 8, 2011.

If you live or work in North Seattle, please fill out the survey for the Brooklyn, Roosevelt and Northgate stations. This survey will be up until June 15, 2011.
