Free Group Ride
TREATS: Kirkland, Laurelhurst, Magnuson Park (Steady)
Registration Now Open
Let's meet at the south end of Crestwoods Park Parking Lot. Be ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. If you plan to join enroute please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.
We will ride south to the Cross Kirkland Corridor and 6th St South/108th Avenue NE to the 520 Trail. After crossing the 520 bridge the route continues through the UW Campus to Laurelhurst neighborhood streets before rejoining the Burke Gilman Trail. We'll stop at Magnuson Park for a 30-minute food/snack stop at 17.2. The route returns via the Burke Gilman Trail, the 520 Trail, and local streets to climb up 116th Avenue NE and Kirkland Greenways to the start.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.
Restrooms and water are available at the start. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us.
