Favorite ride: Coastal and island tours, rural rides, infrastructure audits and short trips for daily needs.

Bio: Andrea spent her first 16 years on farms in rural Oregon, in the heart of pinot noir country. She began bike commuting at 19 when her dad, a dirt bike racer and cowboy, made her sell her car.

Following undergrad, Andrea spent six years in social work serving homeless, immigrant and at-risk youth populations. Since then, she’s led a diversity of complex multi‐disciplinary active transportation projects. She has 13 years of project management and community engagement experience; eight years in urban planning, urban design and active transportation; and six in transit capital projects and construction. Andrea’s passion is addressing the nexus of transportation, land use, housing, public health and human services.

She has a BA in Sociology from the University of Oregon and a Master of Urban Planning degree from University of Washington. Andrea holds a Certificate in Urban Design, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Before joining Cascade, Andrea built and sold a home in West Seattle. She has held urban planning and urban design positions at Sound Transit, Nelson/Nygaard Consulting Associates, the City of Seattle and City of Portland.

Andrea is excited to support Cascade in advocating for a real regional transportation system.
