MULTI DAY FULLY SUPPORTED MOTEL TOURS FROM CBC

OCEAN SHORES TOUR: September 14 - 17, 2007

This tour takes it a little easier with slightly shorter mileage and certainly a lot less climbing. For those of you who rode hard all summer, think of this as the relaxed last tour of the season. For those of you who just like relaxed touring, this is an ideal trip. We know you’ll enjoy the quiet rural roads of Lewis, Pacific, and Grays Harbor counties, with scenery from mountains to seashore.

Friday, September 14
We meet the first night in Chehalis and get to know each other over dinner and share the details of the tour.

Saturday, September 15 - 90 miles
We’ll start off riding along the Chehalis River; climbing a small hill and descending to the Washington Coast along the Willapa River. We’ll eat lunch in Raymond and follow the shoreline to Westport. We will catch the afternoon ferry across Grays Harbor to Ocean Shores. Our hotel is just a short walk from the beach! (Total elevation gain only 1,000’)

Sunday, September 16 - 35 miles
You’ll have the entire morning to enjoy the beach and shops of Ocean Shores. The tour won’t get started until we meet for lunch just before catching the 1:00 PM ferry to return us to Westport. Then we have a short but beautiful ride to Montesano along Grays Harbor and quiet country roads.

Monday, September 17 - 65 miles
This easy saunter will take us back to Centralia along the quietest roads we have ever ridden in Western Washington. We will again be following the Chehalis River (different stretch than on day one) through rolling hills and farmland. We won’t be climbing more than 1,000’ total all day. With lunch in Adna at mile 50 or so, we should be back in plenty of time for folks to get home in the early evening.

Your mere $250/person tour cost pays for the three nights in a motel (based on double occupancy - a room all to yourself will cost an additional $60 per night), the rental of the sag wagon, lunch, water, and snacks for the three days. Dinners are on your own. To register, send a deposit of $100 with the registration form to the Cascade Bicycle Club office by August 31.
