Celebrate Bike Month by giving BIG

t's Bike Month -- and what better way to celebrate than by supporting Cascade's efforts to transform the Puget Sound community into a community that bicycles?

On Wednesday, May 2, the Seattle Foundation is hosting its second annual GiveBIG Day, a community-wide giving challenge and a great opportunity for local nonprofits to stretch their fundraising dollars. For every dollar raised for Cascade’s Education Foundation on May 2, we'll receive a proportional match from the Seattle Foundation. We hope you'll consider donating to Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation on GiveBIG Day.

Need a good reason to give? Here are three:

Support programs that bring the fun into your bike commute: If you've participated in the Group Health Commute Challenge, collected a water bottle (or three) on F5 Bike to Work Day, or dropped by one  of Cascade's Energizer Stations for a bit of support and encouragement, we'd like to remind you that these programs, though free for you, come at a cost to us.

Help make our streets safer for bicycling: We're working every day to ensure that city planners in Seattle and across our region develop transportation plans that take into account the needs of people on bikes, and that those plans are properly funded. As someone who rides, you're benefiting from Cascade's efforts every time you put your feet on the pedals.

Bring bicycling to more people: We're sharing the joy of bicycling -- in schools, at farmers' markets, in the offices of business executives -- everywhere we can. When you give to Cascade, you're helping more people make the choice to ride -- for their health, for the health of our environment, and for the fun of it.

RSVP on Facebook so that you don't forget. Thanks for supporting bicycling!
