Kelsey Mesher

Wheels: A Velo Orange Campeur for daily commuting and bike touring, a re-tooled ‘80s Schwinn Caliente for cruising the neighborhood and a baby blue fixed gear that lives in Chicago

Commute: 13 miles from Columbia City along Lake Washington, or via LINK to the Burke-Gilman Trail

Favorite ride: Adventure rides that take her to new places and end with a milkshake or cold beer

Born and raised in the Seattle area, Kelsey didn’t discover her love for riding until living in Chicago. Picking up a bike brightened her commute, made her neighborhood more accessible and allowed her to experience the sights, smells and sounds of the city in an entirely new way. She loved it so much, she soon found herself pedaling through snow, slush and negative temperatures as a year-round rider.

Kelsey returned to the mild climate and hilly terrain of the Pacific Northwest to study public health at the University of Washington. She is passionate about health equity and eager to advocate for policies that improve the built environment so all Seattle-area residents and visitors can reap the health benefits and joys of bicycling.
