Ride Description:

A mostly rural loop ride out of Redmond, across the Sammamish Plateau, down Duthie Hill Road into the Snoqualmie River Valley, and back via Carnation, Union Hill, and Redmond Ridge.  Two good climbs, two fast descents, assorted rollers, and a long flat run through the fields and along the river from near Fall City to Ames Lake Road.  Climbs and descents are at each rider's own pace.

Please be ready 10 minutes before start time so we can do the safety briefing and get on the road.  Route map and cue sheet are at the Link, below.  If you want a cue sheet, please print it.  Bring ID; spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; and have a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails.  If roads are wet, roostertails from bare tires are a safety and comfort issue for other riders.  Unless your bike geometry won't allow, fenders with long mudflaps are very highly recommended.

No formal food stop, so bring fuel to eat as you go.  Restrooms and water at the start, and also at Beaver Lake Park/Mile 10, Carnation Library/Mile 22.5, and Redmond Ridge Park/Mile 35.

Please RSVP by clicking on the red "Register Now" button under the ride title above.  This will save time at the start.  NOTE:  I will print the ride waiver at 7 AM on ride day.  It's not a problem if you decide to participate after that time, and you can sign in at the start.

The listed phone will not be answered on the morning of the ride and its voicemail will not be checked.  If weather conditions meet the "Showers cancel" criterion I will post a ride-cancelled note in Comments, below, at least 2 hours prior and not go to the start.  High winds or other severe conditions also may cancel.  Please check here before leaving for the ride.

Comments

Hard to tell whether we could start the ride without precipitation.  But the forecast says it'll be raining in the Valley by the time we get there, and same for Redmond when we get back.  Temperatures will be in the low 50s with a noticeable breeze.  Not a setup for a happy day on the bike.  Not riding.  Regrets.
