Ride Description:

A mostly rural birthday ride (not on the birth date, but close enough) from Redmond to North Bend.  Please note that I am slow on climbs, including rising false flats. When the road pitches upward, riders are free to climb at their own pace. I will be along eventually.  A RideWithGPS route map and cue sheet are at the Link, below.  If you have a time constraint and the ride lasts longer than you expected, having the route on a GPS device and/or a cue sheet that you have printed and brought will allow you to go on ahead.

Bring ID; spare tube, tools, pump, patch kit, and skills to fix flats; and a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails.  If roads are wet, bare tires are a safety issue so come with real fenders and a long mudflap in back.

Restrooms and water at the start.  We'll have a quick "eat it and beat it" food-water-bathroom stop at QFC in North Bend/Mile 33.2.  Restrooms and water are available at Beaver Lake Park/Mile 10; Snoqualmie Falls/Mile 24; the North Bend QFC; and Redmond Ridge Park/Mile 67.  There also is a no-water pit toilet at Chinook Bend/Mile 54.

Please RSVP by clicking on the red "Register Now" button under the ride title above.  NOTE:  I will print the ride waiver at 7:30 AM on ride day.  It's not a problem if you decide after that time to ride but you'll need to sign in at the start.

If weather conditions meet the Showers Cancel criterion on the morning of the ride, I will post a ride-cancelled notice in Comments, below, two hours prior, and not go to the start.  If the weather looks iffy, please check here before leaving home.

Comments

Wishing you the happiest of birthdays, John!  You wear it well, to say the least.  I am nowhere near fit enough to ride that many miles, but it looks like you arranged some fantastic weather and I will be sending good thoughts your way.
