Basic Cycling Techniques
Sun. Oct 13, 2019 9:00am to 2:00pm
Expand your bike handling skills while learning with others who are near your skill level. This class is for riders who already know how to ride but who need additional practice. Most students either have recently learned how to ride for the first time or already know how to ride but have not ridden a bike in a number of years. The class allows you practice bike-handling techniques and culminates in a ride in the park to solidify what we’ve learned by riding on low-traffic streets nearby. Perfect for electric bike or traditional bike riders.
To be prepared to take this class you should be able to consistently:
- ride in a straight line for at least 100 yards.
- turn the bike to the left and to the right with control.
- stop using both brakes while maintaining control of the bike.
- make simple gear changes and know which hand controls front and rear shifting.
