FRIDAY RIDERS (Late Start): Two Lakes, Two Parks, & Maybe Some Mountain Vistas
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
We'll ride mostly quiet suburban streets to Centennial Park in Bothell, explore the hidden delights of some cul-de-sacs in Lynnwood, then head up to Silver Lake in Everett on the Interurban Trail. We'll stop for lunch at Piroshky & Crepes before returning to our starting point at Martha Lake Airport Park. This ride can be shortened at various points, so if the weather turns bad, we will do that. It's that wet time of the year, so be sure your bike is equipped with fenders.
Please arrive early for the safety briefing. We will try to leave promptly at 11 am.
If it's raining, snowy, icy, or extremely windy that day, I'll post a cancellation notice here by 9:00 am. If it looks like intermittent rain showers, I'll be at the ride start and will consult the Dark Sky app to make my decision about riding or not. Feel free to call me at 425-238-4045 for updates that morning.
This ride is a mentoring opportunity. Please contact the ride leader at least two days in advance so that you have time to familiarize yourself with the route. Ideally,we will pre-ride the route together.
Directions to start: From I-5 just north of Lynnwood, take the 164th St. SW exit and turn onto 164th heading east towards Mill Creek. Turn left (north) at the 2nd traffic light after the freeway, at Meadow Road. Turn right at 146th St SW, and the park will be on your right just past 4th Ave W.
