FRIDAY RIDERS: Secret and Not-So-Secret Gardens of Mill Creek
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
We'll ride mostly quiet suburban streets to Centennial Park in Bothell, then stroll through two gardens, Rhodie Ridge, and the WSU Demonstration Garden at McCollum Park (both free). Then we'll head up to Silver Lake in Everett on the Interurban Trail. We'll stop for lunch at Piroshky & Crepes before returning to our starting point at Martha Lake Aiport Park. This ride can be shortened at various points, so if the weather turns bad, we will do that. It's that wet time of the year, so be sure your bike is equipped with fenders or be prepared to ride last in line. :) Bring money for the lunch stop and NW Stream Center admission, water and snacks, and a spare tube and tools for flat fixing.
Please arrive early for the safety briefing. We will try to leave promptly at 10 am.
If it's raining, snowy, icy, unreasonably cold, or extremely windy that day, I'll post a cancellation notice here by 8:00 am. If it looks like intermittant rain showers, I'll be at the ride start and will consult the Dark Sky app to make my decision about riding or not. Feel free to call me at 425-238-4045 for updates that morning.
Pre-registering online: If you have a Cascade account, you can pre-register for this ride online by clicking on the Register button at the top of this page and entering your information. Pre-registering saves time at the beginning the ride and provides legible emergency contact information. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to un-register.
This ride is a mentoring opportunity -- please contact the Ride Leader at least two days in advance so that you have time to familiarize yourself with the route.
Directions to start: From I-5 just north of Lynnwood, take the 164th St. SW exit and turn onto 164th heading east towards Mill Creek. Turn left (north) at the 2nd traffic light after the freeway, at Meadow Road. Turn right at 146th St SW, and the park will be on your right just past 4th Ave W.
