For Adult Beginning Cyclists: South Prairie To Orting and Back
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
We will meet at the South Prairie trail head parking lot (Near Jump Start Espresso, off Highway 162) at 11:00 am for a safety briefing. We will discuss some basics about cycling and fitness will depart after the discussion. Please arrive on time for the safety briefing with a helmet, water bottle, mechanically sound bike, tires inflated. Have bike fenders on if the path is wet or predited to rain. It is also a good idea to bring a cell phone, ID and a couple bucks.
We will ride from South Prairie to Orting via the bike path. This ride is designed for those individuals that would like to get fit via cycling. If there is enough interest, I will host this ride routinely with the idea of eventually increasing distance and speed. This is a great opportunity to start cycling and learn about fitness, biking and more. Budget approximately two hours for this ride. We will take a break by the Bell Tower in downtown Orting. There will be an opportunity to use the bathroom before returning to South Prairie. The ride effort level will be 10-12 mph. We will stay together. A link to the RWGPS route can be found below.
This ride is for adults who are looking fo an opportunity to get out of the house, away from the TV and media and do something they will enjoy while getting and staying fit. Please note that his ride is not designed for children (please see the "New Rider Start" and "Cascade Infor for Parents" links below). I hope to motivate you to enjoy cycling and fitness.
