Seattle Pastry Ride: West Seattle Jack Block Park to Bakery Nouveau

It's Fall, so time to ride for treats! Come join us in our ongoing quest to find the best pastries on the Puget Sound. 

This week, we will explore parts of West Seattle. Meet in the Jack Block Park parking lot (near the bathrooms) at 08:45 for a pre-ride safety brief. Then we'll depart at 09:00 and head to Alki beach and Marine View drive.   Then stoping at Bakery Nouveau on California Ave near Alaska Street.

Directions to Start:  From I-5, take West Seattle Bridge (exit 163) to Harbor Ave SW (not Harbor Island). Go ~0.9 mile to Jack Block Park. Drive under red arch on right and drive back until you get to parking.

Pace: This ride will be at a Moderate pace, about 15 mph on flat ground, slower up hills, faster down.
   
Regroups: This will be a social ride, so we'll try to stick together as best we can. We will regroup at the top of bigger hills. There will be some urban riding involved, which means more frequent stop lights and stop signs.  Please come prepared to fix a flat, in you happen to be unfortunate and have a puncture. It's recommended that you print a cue sheet of the route (see the link below) just in case you get separated from the group. 

Rest Stops: There are restrooms at the start at Jack Block Park. The bakery is at mile 20 in West Seattle. 

Requirements: Please make sure to arrive with enough time to get prepared to ride. We'll have a pre-ride safety brief at 0845.  As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you have a helmet, and leave the earbuds at home. If the roads are wet, its always good to have fenders to help keep you dry and keep the road spray off the rider behind you. 

RSVP: Please sign an e-waiver (red button just below the ride title if you are signed into Cascade.org), so we can plan for the appropriate number of Ride Leaders. 

Cancellation Policy: If the weather is really wet and raining steadily, the ride will be cancelled. A note will be posted as a comment on this page regarding ride cancellation one hour prior to the start.  If canceled due to rain, the ride leaders will not be at the start.
