SLOW Ride: Beaches and Other Public Secrets
Event has already happened.
Ride with Senior Ladies On Wheels (SLOW) to explore secret street-end beaches and other hidden public delights. Riders of all ages and identities welcome, as long as you ride SLOW! On these rides the slowest rider sets the pace - don't worry, we won't hurry! There's no shame in getting off your bike awhile to climb a hill or just to take in the scenery.
Starting at the Northwest African American Museum on the I-90 lid, we will follow the I-90 trail, neighborhood Greenways and other low-traffic streets. General ride route is posted below, but we won't give away all the secrets until the ride so don't miss it! We'll stop for a picnic lunch at one of the beaches, if you don't bring a lunch, bring money to buy something in Madison Park. Rain won't cancel - but may lead to a shorter ride.
While SLOW ride founder and regular leader Merlin Rainwater is recovering, current Cascade Americorps and ride leader Morgan Michel will lead the SLOW rides in July and August. Please bear with her as she is no Merlin! But she will always try to bring some free snacks along :).
