Lighting a Path Forward

November 7 - 14, 2020

Join us for a series of events November 7-14 as we light a path forward for bicycling and Cascade.

We are excited to bring you a thought provoking and celebratory series of events. We’re going to talk to industry leaders about what they’re doing to make change and what they’ve learned along the way.  We’re going to be inspired by our Major Taylor Program participants and learn what that program means to them.  We’re going to celebrate local people who are using the bike as a tool for change and build community and raise money along the way. This won't be just another zoom call.

Event Schedule:

Roundtable discussion with industry leaders - Tuesday, November 10th, 6pm

Roundtable with Rapha Foundation and REI about what they’re doing to make change within the cycling community, reducing barriers to who enjoys the outdoors, why they support work such as Cascade and the Major Taylor Project and how they’re using their power and influence.

Discussion with the Major Taylor Project - Wednesday, November 11th, 6pm

Join our MTP students, alumni, volunteers, and ride leaders in discussing what the Major Taylor Project means to them. Hear how your support has made this program so successful and what you can do next.

Celebration and online auction - Thursday, November 12th, 6pm

Join us for an evening with friends to celebrate the power of the bicycle. We'll hear from community members who are working to light the path, breakdown barriers and show us how to use the bike as a tool for change. We'll close our online auction and raise crucial funds for our programs.

Virtual Ride for Major Taylor and Fundraiser - November 7th-14th, anytime

When we first produced the Ride for Major Taylor in 2015, we had two major intentions: one, to highlight an amazing program that enriches the students and communities it serves, and two, to fundraise for the Major Taylor Project so more students in more communities could enjoy bicycling.

In an effort to support donations and fundraising efforts, the virtual Ride for Major Taylor in 2020 gives you two options:

  1. Register as a rider for the suggested minimum $200 donation -or-
  2. Register for free and use the peer to peer fundraising tool to raise the goal of $200 and more.
