Ride Description:

This is a Women's Ride.  If you are looking for a welcoming group of women who are here to encourage each other while having fun and developing new friendships, then this is the group for you! Women's Rides founder, Juli Zalud, is a Trek Women's Advocate and invites anyone who identifies themselves as a woman (regardless of the bike brand you ride) to experience the fun of getting out on your bike with other like-minded women, get in some exercise and good conversation, while enjoying the ride with other ladies who share the passion of cycling. This is a group ride for any woman who is looking for a positive, fun, and encouraging group. If it's your first group ride, we welcome you and would love to have your join us! You can do this! While no one will be turned away from participation in a Cascade Free Group Ride, this ride is intended to create a safe and welcoming space for women.

RSVP: Please RSVP by clicking on the red Register Now  button at the top of this page to save time at ride start, and so that we can ensure we have adequate assistance for the group. Please register at least 2 hours prior to the ride. You can always register at the ride start if you miss the cut-off. If you sign up using e-waiver but decide not to ride, no worries, and we'll see you next time. Thank you!

PACE: The listed pace is based on the flats, with no headwind, and at your own pace up hills. We will  regroup at the top of hills. Ladies, you don't have to be a fast climber to join in this group, this is not a race! We are here to encourage and empower one another to get stronger. As long as you are comfortable with the posted pace on the flats, don't worry about the rest. We will wait at the top of climbs to give all riders a chance to catch a breath before continuing. When using designated bicycle trails we will observe the posted speed limit.

ROUTE: See link below for a RideWithGPS downloadable route map with printable cue sheet. If you want a cue sheet, please print one using the route link as copies will not be available at the ride start. This route will take us from Mountlake Terrace to Silver Lake where we will head through some neighborhoods before dropping into Mill Creek. We'll then climb out of Mill Creek and head back to the start.

PLANNED STOPS: Depending on the groups choice, we may make a stop in Mill Creek for coffee, but please come prepared with enough water and nutrition to do the route without a stop.

MECHANIICALS: Group will stop for flats. Bring tools and knowledge to repair flats, and a plan ie: Orca card, or a friend/Uber to call you have a serious mechanical failure or choose to not repair your flat roadside.

RECOMMENDED/REQUIRED: Head and tail lights are REQUIRED due to the chance of completing the ride after sunset. Mirrors are highly recommended by the ride leader to keep yourself and your riding buddies safe and seen. Fenders and buddy flaps are appreciated if rain is in the forecast.

RIDE CANCELLATION: In the event of a weather cancellation a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride start and ride leader will not be at the ride start location.
