No one celebrates Bike Everywhere Month like the state of Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. April 26, 2017 -  Roll with us! May 1 marks the start of Cascade Bicycle Club’s annual Bike Everywhere Month, a month-long celebration of pedal-powered movement. From May 1-31, communities across our great state will host events, classes, rides and more to inspire more people to get up and out on bikes.

Across the state of Washington, people can also find a May bike challenge to log bike trips and compete for prizes and bragging rights.

Highlights of Bike Everywhere Month include:

May Bike Challenges, May 1-31: These fun, friendly trip tracking competitions encourage riders to get out and ride to work, school and everywhere else. Join a team or just challenge yourself! Track bicycle trips of all kinds using an online tracking system. Compete for prizes and encourage friends, family and coworkers to get out and ride. No matter where you live in Washington state, you can find a spring bike challenge to log your bike trips and compete for prizes and bragging rights. Find a Challenge in your area at cascade.org/bike-challenges and join the fun! If there’s no local challenge in your area, sign up for the statewide Washington Bikes Bike Everywhere Challenge at WAbikes.org.

National Bike to School Day, May 10: May is also a celebratory month for encouraging kids all over the nation to ride their bikes to school. Cascade hosts friendly statewide Bike to School competitions for students who can track their bike riding during May and earn prizes along the way. On May 10, hundreds of parents and students are expected to ride to school throughout the region. Visit cascade.org for more info.

F5 Bike Everywhere Day, May 19: Thousands of Washingtonians take to the streets in an all-day celebration of all things bicycling. Cascade helps coordinate over 100 celebration stations where riders can stop by and join the fun. Find a celebration station to visit at cascade.org/bikeeverywhereday.   

In addition, Cascade offers dozens of free classes, workshops and social events throughout the month for riders of every skill level.
