Free Group Ride
A beautiful route in Snohomish County
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Directions to the start: Take exit #192 from I-5. Head east. Turn right onto S 3rd Ave, which becomes S 2nd Ave. At the 4-way stop, turn left onto Lenora St. Just past the railroad tacks, turn left into the gravel parking lot.
Invitation: Come and enjoy! Some of the sights along the route: Everett Station, Snohomish River, Ebey Island, less traveled roads in Snohomish, Pilchuck River, a very old cemetery (1893)in Machias, Lake Roesiger, a stop at the rustic Lake Roesiger General Store and views of the Snohomish Valley. With the recent cooler temperatures and the rain nature is showing of it's indefinite power to grow fresh grass and weeds among majestic old trees. As mentioned: this is a very pretty route (and the storm didn't make a mess in this area).
Rest stops: MP 22.8 Machias Trailhead Park (restrooms only), MP 41 Lake Roesiger General Store (please, no restroom without purchase, or pay $1). Besides the reststops there are not many places to get water and food. So please come prepared.
Expectations (important, please read!): Cue sheets will not be provided at the start - please print your own copy. Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the waiver and be part of the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended at all times! Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. We regroup occasionally. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group and bring a charged cellphone if possible. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled by 06:30 am, it will be posted in the comment section. In that case the ride leader will not be at the start.
Your RSVP on the Cascade Meetup site is appreciated.
