Ride Description:

Snohomish to Silvana, WRUMPS Ride

The ride is on rural, suburban, trail and some low-traffic roads from the small town of Snohomish to Silvana, a very small community near the Stillaguamish River.  Along the way we will cross Ebey Island, and on the way back exit the bike trail to take a side trip along East Lake Stevens.

The route has a few hills, but none much over 4% grade (fairly easy).  We will stop at Smokey Point for lunch before continuing to Silvana.

We'll regroup as needed to try to keep everybody on the ride.

There will be a limited supply of map/cue sheets at the start of the ride.  Email leader if you want a pdf sent to you.

Hope to see you there.

Note that the meeting place is along the Centennial Trail at Pine and Maple, about a mile north of downtown.  Call leader on his cell phone after 8 am on the morning of the ride if unsure of the weather.

For latest ride info, please check this space and/or call ride leader on his cell after 8 am on the day of the ride.

Hi Saul, I'd like to join in this ride, but wondering what time you expect to finish it. I have done two other shorter rides with CBC at a moderate pace, so I think I should be fine. Are you able to send me a map and cue sheet? Thank you!

-Rachel

As requested: If anybody needs a pdf (rwgps does not give you a good one unless you subscribe), please email me at saulsnatsky@comcast.net.  I'll have a few available at the start too.

As requested: The ride should be completed by 3 p.m., allowing for lunch, given a Moderate pace.  There's no accounting for mechanical problems, flats or weather.

The good news is that it should be cooler, better riding temps on Wednesday, however there may be showers.  Please check back here and/or call the leader at 425.273.4156 after 8 a.m. Wednesday morning for latest.

There is a good chance of rain today (90%).

I am always hopeful that the weather forcast will be wrong, but this one looks right on.

With disappointment, I am cancelling the ride today and looking forward to riding with you on a drier day soon.

The ride leader will be at the start anyway today.   Depending upon the weather,  we will do a shorter WRUMPS ride.  With some luck, it may be possible to do the whole ride.

Sorry for the ping-pong on this; I hit the submit button before finishing the prior Comment.

So...maybe see you there?

After a wet Seattle morning, I posted that the ride was cancelled, then changed my mind five minutes later.  I hope that did not discourage anybody who was looking here for guidance.  However it turned out to be an almost-completely dry day, temps in the 60s and not much wind--really nice biking weather.  There were three of us total, very compatible group and we took turns setting the pace.
