Give to Cascade's Major Taylor Project
Gifts to the Major Taylor Project are tax-deductible and help with all aspects of our programming.
With your gift the Major Taylor Project can continue to support over 250 students with over 40 weeks of programming, including:
- Fall and Spring Ride Club
- Earn-a-Bike Winter Club
- Cyclocross racing and training rides
- Scholarships to the YMCA’s Camp Orkila and Cascade events, including the 206-mile Seattle to Portland
- A safe environment for students to build self-confidence, make friends and develop healthy communication skills
Important note: Your gift of $40 or more to the Major Taylor Project qualifies you for a complimentary membership (may take 1-2 weeks to process). If you cannot wait that long to use your member benefits, please make a tax-deductible contribution by joining Cascade as a member!
We accept bike donations year-round. From late November to early February, students engage with an eight-week bike maintenance curriculum called Earn-a-bike, which helps guide their exploration of their bicycle, community and own identity which concludes with students earning a bike of their own. Additionally, the Major Taylor Project holds bike give-away events for students who cannot attend Earn-a-Bike.
We are still seeking donations of gently-used bicycles to give to eager student mechanics. Of particular interest are: road bikes and small bikes (for riders 4’6” to 5’), though we will accept anything that matches a student’s desires.
Prefer to give by mail? Make your check payable to Cascade Bicycle Club: 7787 62nd Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115.
