Ride Description:

Eighth in an annual series of weekly training rides designed to help riders prepare for large events (STP, RSVP, RAMROD, HPC, etc.). Rides will increase in distance and elevation gain each week.  We will meet in the large parking lot (W6) adjacent to the playing fields in Magnuson Park.

This week we make our way south along Lake Washington Blvd. to Renton and around the southern end of Lake Washington.  We'll turn east at Newcastle and climb atop the plateau through Coal Creek and SE May Valley Rd.  We'll turn north along the Issaquah-Hobart Rd. towards our 1st rest stop in Issaquah.  We then climb up E. Sunset Way to Grand Ridge Plaza and continue north through Klahanie.  We'll do a counter-clockwise loop around Beaver Lake and then continue north along 244th Ave. NE to the Redmond-Fall City Rd.  We'll turn east briefly along SR 202 (< 1 mile) before turning north again on 236th Ave. NE, eventually ending up on Novelty Hill Rd., where we turn right for our 2nd rest stop at the QFC in Redmond Ridge.  We then continue north through Trilogy before turning west on the Woodinville-Duvall Rd.  We make our way west past Cottage Lake with an ascent up the east slope of Hollywood Hill, descending into Woodville and through Bothell  and our 3rd and final rest stop at the Safeway, before a final climb up behind Lake Forest Park and our return to Magnuson.

Riders must be self-sufficient and be able to ride in groups. We will maintain a strict brisk pace (16-18 mph on the flats). Bring spare tubes, tools, etc. and if wet, fenders would be appreciated. We plan to leave promptly at 9:00 AM.
