Portland is rated by the League of American Bicyclists as one of the top bicycle-friendly cities in America – to be specific, one of only 3 to achieve “Platinum” status. Portland is an incredibly diverse and progressive city – recently voted the hippest up and coming city in America. Portland is known as “The Rose City” –flowers are everywhere. Located near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers, the City is a major center for craft brewing, has a dynamic dining scene, an impressive coffee culture and features the largest bookstore in America (Powell’s City of Books). The metro area is home to many world class companies. Nike and Columbia Sportswear are located in nearby Beaverton. Intel, the world’s largest maker of computer chips is located in Hillsboro.
