Smith Cove Cruise Terminal

Detailed biking/driving map available here

By bike

Bicycling is the most convenient way to visit this event. Riders may enter the facility ONLY via the North gate, located underneath the Magnolia Bridge at Smith Cove. Secure parking is available directly in front of the Terminal at the Bike Works bike corral (for a small fee). The first 150 riders to use the corral each day will receive a complimentary top tube bag for their bike.

From the north (Dravis & 20th Ave W in Magnolia):
Take 20th Avenue West until you reach end of the road (train tracks on left).  Turn right on Elliot Bay/Terminal 91 Bicycle Trail toward Smith Cove; turn left onto West Garfield Street (use caution as there will be oncoming cars arriving down ramp); turn left.

From the south (Broad Street/Olympic Sculpture Park):
Take Elliot Bay/Terminal 91 Bicycle Trail through Myrtle Edwards & Elliot Bay parks. After leaving Elliot Bay park, follow the trail to the left for 300 yards until you reach the West Garfield Street crossing. You will not be able to enter the grounds at the east gate - cross Garfield and head north on the Elliot Bay trail. Turn left at 29th Avenue West and follow the trail to the parking area under the Magnolia Bridge.

By bus or foot

Check King County Metro’s website for the most up-to-date routes that serve Smith Cove Cruise Terminal 91. Request the stop on the Magnolia Bridge at Terminal 91. Depart bus on bridge, cross the street very carefully and walk down staircase to under the bridge. The Terminal 91 parking lot entrance will be below- please look for Expo directional signage. Once you enter through the staffed gate, walk 10 minutes to the Cruise Terminal at far south end of the pier. Be careful and watch out for cars, etc. -- this is a working pier.

By car

Parking

There is ample parking at Terminal 91 available for approximately $5 per car. Attendees will need to take the free shuttle bus, which runs every 10 minutes during show hours, or walk 3/4 mile from the parking lot to the terminal entrance on south end of the pier. Please plan for this short walk and dress accordingly.

From I-5:

If coming from the north, take Exit 167 / Mercer Street (just before Downtown Seattle).
If coming from the south, take Exit 167 / Mercer Street.  It is after the I-90 exit and THE EXIT IS ON THE LEFT side of the freeway.

From this point, the directions to the new Seattle Cruise Ship Terminal are the same:
  • Continue straight onto Mercer Street off the exit
  • Continue onto Broad Street
  • Turn right onto Denny
  • Slight right onto Western
  • Western merges into Elliot Avenue
  • Continue north for about one mile and follow signs to the Magnolia Bridge
  • Keep right and follow ramp which goes to Magnolia Bridge (West Garfield Street)
  • Exit right following signs to "Smith Cove Park" and Cruise Terminal
  • Turn right at bottom of ramp and follow signs for Cruise Terminal or Cruise Terminal Parking.
From the 520 Bridge:
From 520, go southbound onto I-5 and IMMEDIATELY move to the right hand lane to take Exit 167 / Mercer Street.  Then follow the directions above.

From the I-90 Bridge:
From I-90, the Google directions say to take Hwy 99 North (the Viaduct).  Seattle natives would not usually take this route.  An easier way to get to Magnolia (without crossing four lanes of freeway) is to follow I-90 to the waterfront (Alaskan Way), then go north to the end of Alaskan Way to Elliot Avenue and follow Elliot north to the Magnolia Bridge:

  • Go west to the end of I-90 (NOTE - the next few turns happen quickly)
  • Turn right at 4th Avenue South
  • Turn right at South Royal Brougham Way
  • Turn right at 1st Avenue South
  • Turn left at South King Street
  • Turn right at Alaskan Way
  • Follow to the end of Alaskan Way (~1 mile)
  • Turn right at Broad Street and immediately get ready for a left turn
  • Turn left at Elliott Avenue and continue on Elliot (~1 mile)
  • Follow signs to the Magnolia Bridge
  • Turn right at 14th Avenue West
  • Keep right and follow ramp going to the Magnolia Bridge (West Garfield Street)
  • Following signs to "Smith Cove Park" and Cruise Terminal
  • Turn right at the bottom of the ramp and follow signs for Cruise Terminal
