Starbucks Bike to Work Day
This Friday, May 16

Here at Cascade Bicycle Club, Starbucks Bike to Work Day is our biggest event. It's the one day of the year when tens of thousands of ordinary folks are motivated to leave their cars at home and hop on a bike instead.

Even if you are not a regular commuter, join us this Friday for Starbucks Bike to Work Day. We've even got a special workshop on Tuesday night to answer those burning questions from new commuters.

So come on Seattle! Let's show our families, neighbors, co-workers, politicians, business leaders and the media that

Update: BNSF Eastside Right of Way

On Monday, May 12, the Port of Seattle held a signing ceremony at the Wilburton Trestle in Bellevue to seal the $107 million deal between the Port and BNSF. This brings to a close the first and most important chapter for the 42 mile corridor between Renton and Snohomish -- that being getting it into public hands.

Thank you to the more than 1,275 people who took action by contacting the Port and the County about the corridor. In the coming weeks, we'll call on you to help us launch the next phase of our campaign to ensure nonmotorized transportation within the abandoned right of way.

Cascade Bicycle Club presents "Spokesong"
May 16 - June 8 at the Bathhouse Theater

'Spokesong' will delight you and capture your imagination.

Set in and around a bicycle shop in Belfast, this comic piece concerns Frank, the current operator of the shop founded by his grandfather. As his city in Northern Ireland becomes a war-zone, Frank dreams of peace through superior transportation -- the Bicycle. Part romance, part blithe-spirited social history, part musical and, not least of all, part lament for the religious and economic strife that has torn Ireland apart for so many years.

Cascade Bicycle Club Members get $5 off tickets for all Sunday - Thursday performances. Discount is good for box office sales only, by telephone at 206-524-1300, (open Tues-Sat, noon-5pm) or in-person on day of show. You must mention the order code "cascade".
