Join CBC Executive Director Chuck Ayers on a magical tour of the French Pyrenees as part of the second tour group this summer! The 2004 tour route has been announced and we are working fast and hard to lock in our final details on the Pyrenees stages. The dates at this time are July 16th - 26th.

The tour will feature 5-6 days bicycle touring, plus one day viewing of an exciting mountain stage in the Pyrenees; you'll then meet up with the CBC Alps tour group for a memorable weekend in Paris to catch Lance Armstrong and the final stage live!

Space is limited to the first twenty-eight; a $500 deposit now will hold your space! Estimated costs for Cascade members will only be $2,975 (land only), which includes 6 days of cycling with breakfast, dinner and catered sandwiches for lunch along with snacks and drinks, 3 star pensions and hotels for all 10 nights!

This tour offers many different opportunities to truly experience France with the locals in just 12 days! You will meet our local guides in Toulouse, France. Then you will cycle near the route visiting many villages that will host or have previously hosted the tour. By popular demand all accommodations include small pensions or locally known hotels some were made famous by the original tour cyclist 100 years ago! You will have an opportunity to participate in many fun events including the chance to win a "Yellow Jersey" from the local tour operator guide. The last few days will give you time to catch your breathe in Paris, but only for a moment, while viewing the end of the 2004 tour. All year round but especially in July, Paris offers a variety of events, sights and activities to enjoy!

Alps Hillside and houses

The 2004 le Tour de France: Pyrenees Bicycle Tour will follow the “Tour” through the beautiful Pyrenees Mountain region, and culminates in an unforgettable weekend in Paris to catch the final day of the Tour.

The new Cascade-Affiliated Tours Program is produced by StarkTours, Inc. and hosted by a Cascade Ride Representative. The emphasis is on the appreciation & immersion in the local areas we visit. You will meet and travel with locals; camp in some of the most beautiful and scenic European campgrounds; as well as view stages of the le Tour de France race, and finishing with the final day in Paris.

Breakfast and dinner will be provided on most days: beer, wine & cheese will always be close at hand at the end of the days ride. As a CBC Member you will get 10% off any StarkTours that you book!

For each registered rider, StarkTours will donate $50 to the Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation. If this trip is as successful as planned, look for more trips to be added in the future, including a 2005 Giro d’Italia and more.
