RAW Refund and Transfer Policy
A few registered RAW riders cancel each year prior to the event. If you need to cancel, the following applies. Typically, RAW sells out several months before the ride. In past years many riders who have been unable to participate after registering have been able to transfer (sell) their registrations to other cyclists.
REFUNDS
- The first $310 of RAW's registration fee is non-refundable.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: All RAW registrations must be paid in full by May 15, 2009. Rider deposits cannot be transferred after this cut-off date; they will be forfeited. Only registrations which have been previously PAID IN FULL can be transferred after June 1, 2009.
- Transferring a registration or having Trip Insurance (see below) cancels any refund from the Cascade Bicycle Club.
- Written requests must be received at the Cascade Bicycle Club:

TRANSFERS
One way to sell your registration is to post it on the CBC Website Event Message Board at www.cascade.org toward the bottom of the home page.
Receiving payment is the seller's responsibility. If you sell your registration, both you and the buyer need to email rawact@cascadebicycleclub.org saying that RAW Rider's registration has transferred from [name] to [name]. Also, the buyer subsequently must submit a completed, signed Registration Form and a $20 handling fee by fax, mail, courier or in-person.
If the transfer happens on or after July 25, 2009, the buyer should bring copies of everything, including e-mails, to Packet Pick-Up in case the transfer has not yet been processed at the Club.
TRIP INSURANCE
It is strongly suggested you purchase independent trip insurance, such as that available from CSA at www.csatravelprotection.com, 800-873-9855, or AccessAmerica.com. Full registration and any ancillary costs such as bus or airfare can be covered. Many people cancel at the last few weeks before the ride every year for bona-fide reasons and lose their money because sellers cannot be found at late dates. In the fall 2007, a week-long, $1,000 trip insures for approximately $55 for a 45-year-old, and $65 for a 57-year-old.
CANCELATION DUE TO ACTS OF NATURE
Due to the fact that at least one of the volcanoes that we will be near is always active and we will be traveling through substantial forestlands, it is possible that events may lead to the closure of one or more portions of the roads that we plan to use for the ride. If the ride is canceled due to acts of nature or closure of the area due to hazards, the above table will determine any possible refunds. If the cancellation occurs during the ride, we will make every reasonable effort to assist you in either using an alternate route or leaving the affected area and returning home depending on the scope of the natural events.
