Some Disappointments

In a letter dated April 10,1896 in Seattle, Washington, WFB writes to his Brother Charles in Ohio, from Port Townsend where he has been taking the Civil Service Exam:

Dear Chas:-

...

I took my new wheel with me (to P.T.) and within an hour after I got to Townsend I went out with four fellows for a 20 mile run. The wheel club here in town consists of 150 members.

...

Sent in my membership for the L.A.W. tonight. Had an unfavorable reply from the Cleveland Leader, so you needn't speak to Secheverell if you haven't done so. Neither does Lozier Co. care to have me do any advertising for them. May not be able to make the trip pay - Allie Sauer may not come.

If it's pleasant tomorrow, Latimer and I are going around with the wheel club to West Seattle.

...

No other news.

Will
