Little Helen Babcock

Little Helen

Helen Nevins was born in Seattle in 1895. After her father had suffered through some hard times trying to establish a law practice, and very shortly after her birth, her father, Charles packed up and moved back to Ohio to practice law there, eventually becoming a judge in eastern Ohio. Helen went back to visit her favorite Uncle Will in 1905, travelling to Seattle by train, and returning with grand stories about life in the west.

When I married Helen's granddaughter, I had no idea of the heritage of cycling that existed in this family, and was not aware of the responsibilities and rewards of the relationship I was entering.
