Alternate Route Seattle To Sea-Tac Airport.

This route is about 1 1/2 miles longer than the signed route suggested by the Seattle Transportation Department. It avoids Des Moines Way, which has 4 lanes, little shoulder, and at rush hours can be very busy.

Sea-Tac Airport to Downtown Seattle

Start from airport baggage claim:

1. From baggage area use sidewalk parallel to baggage claim road, to Pacific Hwy S (International Blvd).
2. At intersection use pedestrian signals to cross to the east side and turn left, go north on Pacific Hwy S.
3. Turn left onto S 170th St at signal.
4. Turn right onto Air Cargo Road.
5. Follow the road to the right and cross S 154th St, road becomes 24th AveS.
6. Right onto S 144th. Cross Pacific Hwy S at traffic light
7. Left onto 42nd Ave S. Becomes 40th Ave S in 1/2 mile.
8. Left onto East Marginal Way at stop sign.
9. Left onto Interurban at signal.
10. Left onto S 112th. Cross Pacific Highway S.
11. Cross Duwamish River on foot/bike bridge. Right to follow trail.
12. Follow trail, then frontage road (27th Ave S, then West Marginal PlaceS.) to 14th Ave S.
13. Bear Right to follow 14th Ave S.
14. Cross Duwamish River (better to use sidewalk). Road becomes 16th Ave S.
15. Turn left onto E. Marginal Way S (heavy industrial traffic).
16. Turn right onto Ellis Ave S.
17. Jog right onto S Albro Place, then turn left onto Stanley Ave S.
18. Follow to the right onto 13th Ave S and turn left onto Airport Way S and follow it for about 3.3 miles.
19. After crossing Royal Brougham, the street forks. Stay right to 7th Ave S (Airport Way continues left).
20. Turn left onto S Jackson St (this is the International District).
21. Welcome to Seattle. The Amtrak station is on your left as you cross 4th Ave S.

Downtown Seattle to Sea-Tac Airport

Start from Amtrak station:

1. From the Amtrak station go east on S Jackson St (this is the International District).
2. Turn right onto Maynard Ave S.
3. Turn left onto Airport Way S and follow it for about 3.3 miles.
4. Turn right onto 13th Ave S.
5. Turn right onto S Albro Place.
6. Follow the arterial as it turns left onto Ellis Ave S.
7. Turn left onto E Marginal Way S (heavy industrial traffic).
8. Turn right onto 16th Ave S, cross Duwamish River (better to use sidewalk).
9. 16th Ave S becomes 14th Ave S.
10. Keep Left at Hwy 99 interchange to follow 14th Ave S to frontage road (West Marginal Place S.).
11. Follow West Marginal Place S then 27th Ave S until trail appears on left side of roadway.
12. Follow trail to foot/bike bridge across Duwamish River.
13. Straight at end of bridge to follow S 112th eastbound.
14. Right onto 40th Ave S. Becomes 42nd Ave S in 1/2 mile.
15. Right onto S 144th St.
16. Turn left onto 24th Ave S.
17. 24th Ave S becomes Air Cargo Road as it crosses S 154th St.
18. Turn right onto Pacific Hwy S at signal.

    At the next signal, turn right onto sidewalk on the south side of roadway and follow it to the terminal.
