The Group Health Commute Challenge is open for registration!

May is National Bike Month, and the 2012 Group Health Commute Challenge website is OPEN for registration! We invite you to join thousands of other new and experienced riders and take the challenge. During the month of May, solo riders and workplace- or community-based teams participate in friendly competition to see who can ride the most during the month of May. Our user-friendly website allows participants to log trips, calculate miles, CO2 emission savings, and calories burned; and challenge friends and co-workers. It’s easy, fun, and free, so give it a try!

Ready to ride? Here are the next steps:

Register for the 2012 Challenge today and join a team. Registration only takes a few minutes, and you can sign up as a team captain, solo rider, or team rider. If you plan to join a team, you can either wait for a team invitation from a captain, or go ahead and sign up as an individual and transfer to a team when invited by a captain.

Form your own team. Share the fun of bicycling (and the Commute Challenge) with others by forming your own team. We’ve made recruiting team members and motivating your team easy with our captains’ toolkit and email templates. Plus, Captains receive great perks, including a free t-shirt and an invitation to the Captain's Bash at Pike Brewery.

Reach out to a newbie. Most bike commuters get rolling through the encouragement of a friend or coworker. Make it a goal this year to bring along a new bike commuter. Encourage a new rider to join you for the Group Health Commute Challenge or F5 Bike to Work Day.

Work for a bike-friendly business? Businesses can sign up to give $1 to the Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation for every mile ridden by their employees. Participating businesses will be recognized for their support.  Check the bike-friendly business box when you register for the Commute Challenge or contact Tarrell Wright, Development Director, at tarrell.wright@cascadebicycleclub.org for more information.

Sign up today and let's ride!
