Help more kids in Snohomish get access to bike education

The Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation has recently expanded our Group Health Basics of Bicycling safety and skills program for elementary school students to the Edmonds School District.  This is a three-week on-bike safety and skills curriculum for third to fifth grade students. Cascade trains and assists teachers, maintains and delivers bikes, and administers the program. We are currently searching for more funding to help continue and expand this program.

The South Snohomish County Commission for Health, more commonly known as Commission for Health (CFH), is dedicated to improving the health and well-being in the county.  They are reassessing their funding priorities, and will be making some decisions soon about what kinds of activities to fund, activities such as  bicycle safety education.

If you live or work in South Snohomish County, please take a moment to fill out this survey.  Bicycling safety education for kids is not typically funded in schools. Children should have bicycle safety and skills education in school or in afterschool program to help them learn healthy habits that will last them a lifetime. Please let the Commission for Health know your feelings about physical activity programs and education for children.
